Temper rolling to control texture and earing in aluminium alloy AA 5050A

The evolution of crystallographic texture during the thermo-mechanical processing aluminium sheet is accompanied by development plastic anisotropy and, most notably, well-known earing phenomenon. In present paper we analyse formation and properties in sheets Al-Mg alloy AA 5050A (ISO AlMg1.5(D)) along a process route resulting temper H16 after cold rolling H44 lacquering. This route, which characterized interannealing combination with mild final pass, was established for production Al packaging medium strength very good properties. Besides detailed characterization microstructure, resultant standard processing, measures to improve adapting ratio relevant recrystallization components are addressed.
